Will Hillenbrand - Will Hillenbrand has spent most of his life in and around Cincinnati, Ohio (hooray, another Buckeye!). As a child, he listened to family stories and those of customers in his father's barbershop and attempted to illustrate them using crayons. He moved on to other mediums in high school and then art school. Following graduation, he tried his hand at advertising, but fell in love with picture books following a class in children's illustration. Will spends part of his time in his studio filled with marionettes, toys, and folk art animals and part of his time in classrooms, talking with children about creating pictures. He has won numerous awards including the IRA Children's Choice Award for THE HOUSE THAT DRAC BUILT (Gulliver) and WICKED JACK (Holiday House), an SLJ Best Book of 1995.
